This man was a living legend, a contemporary of shuhada that we've only heard about. A man who achieved things.It's a principle that you and I learned from Shahid Qasem Soleimani. I mean, now if we look at Iran, I mean, if Iran did not have this strength of resolve and the Sayyid Leader, may God preserve him, the whole thing would have fallen apart (literally: "the ornaments would have all come unstrung"). This is comprehensive and exclusive, as they say in logic, when they define something: that this Imam acts according to the wilayah of the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, and he is empowered to act. Who is it that wants to humiliate Iran? Who is it that, from Iran, wants to make a deal that would involve humiliation of the Muslims? He stands in his way. He says to him, "Come here. Whatever you may be, president of the republic or not, this you are forbidden to do." Why? We had such a low sense of morale that we thought, “Oh my God, I don't know how we're gonna survive this.” ... And he quotes this verse where Allah strengthen, and they will be victorious like Khandaq. Nobody knew this. General Qasem Soleimani is a master strategist.I'm not saying that all the ideas and thoughts of Imam Khomeini and the vision that he had about establishment of Islamic Republic all are materialized one hundred percent. Nobody claimed that. But at least he opened that vision, and he showed the path. And I'm sure that there are so many people over there that they are committed to the vision of the founder of that republic, and they are working to make it happen.During the course of the revolution, there were some individuals. There was an alam. The leader talks about this. And he would be debating with mumineen, and one of his debates was this. He said that, “Why do we have to say three salawat after we say Imam Khomeini’s name? We say Rasulullah’s name, we only say one salawat. Imam Khomeini’s name, three. What is this?” The guy who’s from the khawas, who understands, is trying to talk gently to the alam, explain to the alam. He’s like, “Right now we’re in a struggle. When you say the name of Imam Khomeini, this is jihad.” He said, “Once we win, we’ll say three salawats every time we hear the Prophet’s name. Right now, saying the Prophet’s name, that’s not the jihad. What hurts the enemy is saying Imam Khomeini.”This from the Arafah. We wanna pray for the blessed soul of Imam Khomeini. Some of you, like me, I owe even being Shia to Imam Khomeini. For some of you, you woke up, or your forefathers woke up because of that great man. You wanna pray for the success of the revolution. The revolution is what started this, what's moving this whole thing. Of course, maybe you've heard from the words of the leader, we all have to pull our weight. It's not just what's happening in Iran, but we wanna pray for their success over there, and in particular, the success and the health of Imam Khamenei, the person who's carrying the flag right now.our leader, Imam Khamenei, and our imam, the living imam, Imam al-Mahdi. May Allah hasten his reappearance on the Shahada, the martyrdom of his grandfather, al-Imam as-Sadiq, alayhis salatu wassalam.Imam Khomeini says this. Imam Khomeini said the Basijis are not limited to the Islamic Republic of Iran; these nuclei of resistance have to be created all over the world. Part of that, brothers and sisters, wherever you are, whether you're resisting as an individual or as a collective, part of a resistance community.So you noticed one person, this was something that I noticed in Iran. To the extent that recently after the one-year anniversary of the martyrdom of Shahid Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, not only was he thanking them, he was also thanking the Iraqis.In term of the politics, you just heard what Shahid Motahari had said with regards to Palestine 60 years ago. He was in fact arrested and imprisoned because of his support or in fact collection for collecting funds in support of homeless Palestinians. That is 60 years ago. Surely he would be inshallah on the same line today as well on political life. In term of his support for Wilayat al-Faqih and the line of Wilayat, Shahid Motahari is among those who was very much extremely supportive of that in the beginning because when Imam Khomeini tells us that he is the summary of my life, you read the rest of it. He was exiled and sent to Turkey but did not retreat from his position. Expelled from Turkey, he went to live in Najaf but did not retreat from his position. Who said everything we have is from Karbala and Imam Hussein's mission? Who gave life back to the faith? Who revived the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt?Now, this is something for you and I as the children of Imam Khomeini for us to really ponder over. Imam Khomeini said something very deep. He said that the wilaya, the wilaya of the faqih... We're not talking about the maqam of Ahlul Bayt. The maqam of Ahlul Bayt, even anbiya, even anbiya weren't like Amir al-Mu'minin. We're not talking about that. Practically speaking, the wilaya of Ali ibn Abi Talib is the same as the wilaya of the current faqih. Whatever you would do for Ali, if you really were a big supporter, you're doing it right now for the current wali. Why is it that he is a red line for us? Because Ali is. The wilaya is the same.I wanna tell you a story about something that happened. An Iranian professor... This is gonna be part of the solution. An Iranian professor, this is why you and I were so glad to be alive when we've learned in the school of Imam Khomeini, why we're on the verge of victory. An Iranian professor went to Tokyo, the University of Tokyo. When he goes to the University of Tokyo, he's invited. He's there to give a speech. It's not political speech, right? But this man is an ideological son of Imam Khomeini, not a biological son, but he's been raised. He's a war veteran, right? And indeed, that is what happened. This was the conquest of conquests (fath al-futuh). The Islamic Revolution was the conquest of conquests. They made the son of Yazid, right, the daddy of Netanyahu, the daddy of NATO, they made him come out and say surrender before Muharram, surrender. They really thought they had this, they had this in the bag. What happened? And then what's our responsibility? What happened though? Iran calmly proceeded to beat Israel to death. Iran was calmly curb-stomping after they went over and killed the leaders and they, you know, 15 hours later the leader had replaced his individuals. You see our system is a system of wilaya.Remember, Haj Qasim taught us this. He said times of crisis. There's incredible opportunity in times of crisis. Times when it gets difficult. He said there's a condition. Don't you panic. Don't let anybody else panic.You notice, why do we revere people like Malcolm X, Imam Khomeini, the prophet? Because what's one thing they weren't for? They weren't for sale.The idea of being with the wali of the time. I think if there was one lesson that he would want us to take from him, it's being with the wali of the time. Standing for Palestine is part of that. If you remember, the will of Qasim Soleimani was the same thing. And the will of all of the shuhada. Just read them. You'll see one of the things they mention is the wali of the time.So I'm a big follower of our scholars under Khamenei, salam alaykum, of the ones that are representatives like Sheikh Shomali, Sheikh Bahmanpour, so on and so forth.What believer and follower of Hussein stood alone while he faced the whole world in opposition? What believer followed his grandfather who faced imposed wars and wars of attrition? What do you say of Imam al-Khumaini who faced extradition? Who said everything we have is from Karbala and Imam Hussein's mission? Who gave life back to the faith, who revived the teachings of Ahlul Bayt? A question honestly asked. So answer honestly.Imam Khomeini's only goal was his taklif What's my taklif? He would train the brothers and sometimes they would they would arrange operations They would fight, they would do thisIn the life of the late, great Imam Khomeini. Imam Khomeini, may Allah bless him and raise him with the Ahlul Bayt alayhim as-salam. Yes, he was able to do something that we haven't seen since the time of Imam Hassan. From that long time, to be able to establish Islamic government in this way... Imam Khomeini went through difficulties... Allah granted him success that is, we see, unparalleled.Now, knowing a little bit about what systemic racism is, what can we learn from the life of Imam Khomeini that will empower us to do this mission that we have and restore dignity to the oppressed? But not only the oppressed here, brothers and sisters, to liberate the globe. Remember, Imam Khomeini... May Allah have mercy on him. May he bless him and raise him with Ahlul Bayt alayhum as-salam. He gave karama to the oppressed.When that leader, that senior commander came in, he says... I've told the team, he was real cocky... When he said that, Haj Qasem Soleimani? Shaheed Haj Qasem Soleimani, he was cringing from the words of the commander... He was actually pulling at his hair in frustration.Imam Khomeini brought dignity to the ummah. I'm going to mention some of the lessons that we get from this man... And how do we slowly take steps to become like Imam Khomeini?
