English translationAnd [Khomeini] brought into being a nation that believed in the choice of making Islam the arbiter in the movement of contemporary life. What encouraged pride in Imam Khomeini’s call was the Iranian ruler’s disregard for the nation’s resources and his tying Iran to the wheel of powers that put obstacles in the way of religion and the Iranian people. Therefore, we saw the national forces, even if they were not Islamic in orientation, stand with Imam Khomeini and support him.

English translationFrom what I know of Sayyid Khamenei, who is the Wali al-Faqih, I consider him a rational, balanced man with great experience in managing the helm of affairs. He is also a man whom I consider one of the Iranian Islamic intellectuals, and he came to this position and is worthy of it. I tell him not to deal with the opposition, that is, not to deal with the opposition according to a logic of "salvation," and not to deal with the opposition according to a governmental logic. I call on him to deal with the opposition with the logic of fatherhood and the logic of a shepherd for whom, that is, the children are equal in his eyes.

بالنسبه لمعرفتي بالسيد الخامنئي الذي هو الولي الفقيه اعتبر السيد الخامنئي هو رجل عاقل وموزون وصاحب تجربه كبيره في اداره دفه الامور و وهو رجل اعتبره ايضا من المثقفين الايرانيين الاسلاميين وجاء الى هذا الموقع وهو جدير به اقول له ان لا يتعامل مع المعارضه يعني الا يتعامل مع معارضه بمنطق نجاه ولا يتعامل مع المعارضه بمنطق بمنطق حكومي ادعوه ان يتعامل مع المعارضه بمنطق الابوه وبمنطق الراعي الذي يعني تتساوى عنده الابناء
